Online Hurling Foundation Course

Clare GAA Coaching and Games are delighted to announce details of our online Foundation hurling course. All theory elements of the course can be completed at learning.gaa.ie. Full instructions on how to enroll on the course are carried in the attachment, the password for enrolling in the course is "OnlineJune2015". This password must be inputted when enrolling. All participants must complete the online element of the course before attending the practical workshop which is scheduled to take place in Clare GAA Headquarters Clareabbey on Monday June 22nd at 6:30pm. GAA Referee Level One Course @ UL commencing Monday 23rd February

The GAA refereee level one course, as provided by the Munster Referees committee for limerick & Clare, is being held in the University of Limerick on Monday 23rd, Wednesday 25th, Monday 2nd March & Wednesday 4th.  
The Course will run from 7.30pm to 9.30pm each evening and attendance at all four sessions is required to achieve  certification.  All potential referees should contact Ger Hoey, Clare Refreees Administrator at 086 6789892 or ger.hoey.referee@gaa.ie

The Annual In-service course for clare referees is being held on Wednesday 25th february & again on Monday March 2nd at Clareabbey

Notice of Foundation Courses

Clare GAA are pleased to announce the following foundation GAA Coaching Courses

Foundation Dual (Hurling and Football Course)...
Venue: Cratloe GAA Club
Dates Thursdays March 12th, 19th & 26th
Times 6.30 to 9.30pm

Foundation Hurling Course
Venue: Clonlara GAA Club (Community Centre)
Dates: Friday 27th February 6.30pm to 9.30pm and Sat 28th February 10.30am to 2.30pm (next weekend)

Foundation Hurling Course (To be confirmed)
Venue: Bodyke GAA Club and O'Callaghans Mills GAA Club
Dates Mondays March 9th, 16th & 23rd
Times 6.30 to 9pm.

This is an introductory course and is a great start for anyone looking to get involved in coaching. You need to complete a foundation course to proceed to award 1 child, youth or adult.

Bookings are essential and can be made by emailing sean.chaplin.gpo.clare@gaa.ie to reserve a place

Please note that these are the only foundation courses that will be run in East/South Clare until next Autumn. This course will qualify people to apply for a job in the Cúl Camps.

Cost €20 per person

I am delighted to inform you of 2 upcoming Fundamental Movement Development Pathway Workshops:

These workshops will take place on:

Thursday 6th March in Cooneys, Quilty, 7pm - 9pm.

Wednesday 11th March in Lahinch NS, 7pm - 9pm.

This workshop is aimed at coaches at U12, U10s, U8s and nursery programme, and would also encourage parents of young children to attend and your local primary school teachers and finally any members of your club who would have been part of club child development programme committee.

The workshop is approx 2 hours in length and is split into two parts:

1. Theory Session:
Philosophy / Pathway of the programme.
Benefits of incorporating this programme into club nursery programme.
Assessment of programme.
Implementation of the programme.

2. Practical Session: (Club would provide a cross section of players Approx 16: U8 x 5, U10 x 5 and U12 x 5)
Warm Up
Assessment
Mobility races
Developing speed and running technique
Developing Agility
There is no cost involved with this workshop for coaches to attend.

Ennistymon & Miltown Award 1 Youth Coaching Course for Coaches of Youth team's will begin on Monday 16th February


Clare Coaching @ Games GAA are delighted to announce details of an Award 1 Youth Coaching Course for coaches of Youth Teams (U14 to Minor)

Venue's: 
Monday Feb 16th 7pm Ennistymon GAA Club OTU Coaching Model
Sunday Feb 22nd 10am Miltown GAA club - Tactical Awareness
Monday Feb 23rd 7pm - Miltown Community Hall - Physical Fitness
Sunday Mar 1st 10am - Ennistymon GAA club - Team Play
Sunday Mar 8th 10am - Ennistymon GAA club -
Monday Mar 9th 7pm - Psychological Focus

The cost is €50 per person.

The course is limited to 30 people. Only people that have completed a foundation award course may enrole on this course.

This will be hugely beneficial for coaches involved with juvenile teams. 

The Course will be mainly practically based and will cover a multitude of areas involved in Coaching young players and all coaches wishing to do the course must have completed the Foundation award. The following areas will be covered in the course: 

Skill Development
Tactical and Team Play Development
Physical Improvement
Movement Technique
Psychological Development

The aim of the course is to cover all the areas required in helping young players develop to their potential. 

The course is 15 hours in total and will take place over 6 evenings/mornings at the end of which participants will receive an Award 1 Coaching Certificate. It is important that all clubs avail of this opportunity to up-skill their coaches and clubs are asked to send in Coaches currently involved with underage team's

Award 1 Youth Hurling Course will take place in St. Flannan's College commencing 28th january

Award 1 Youth Hurling Course will take place in St. Flannan's College. The course is aimed at individuals who coach boys and girls aged 13-17 years. Cost of doing the course is 50 Euros.
